about me

some history

Prior to development, I worked for UPS in many capacities between 2000 and 2011 which span the time I spent at college (Gloucestershire College of Arts and Technology) and university (University of the West of England). During this time I was a team leader at the Gloucester branch, Sales Executive for the South West of England and finally Customer Technology Consultant where I consulted, planned and implemented ERP to shipping system integrations mainly via XML or ODBC. It was here that I found a need for developing solutions to assist in these integrations.

After going through a VB.Net book I enrolled in a Home Learning College course that I passed in 2010 and became a Microsoft Certified Professional in .Net development.

In 2011 I joined Mapfre as a .Net developer and worked on legacy systems as well as new systems providing support, bug fixes and enhancements. I later moved on to full project work and am currently responsible for the development of an industry standard recommendations management system using C# MVC with Entity Framework, SQL Server, jQuery, AJAX, JSON and CSS.

.net development

In the early stages of my development career I made a number of utility windows forms & console applications using VB.Net that mainly worked with data in order to facilitate ERP to shipping data integrations.

Once I became a commercial developer I supported and enhanced legacy and new system spanning VBA in Access and various VB6 programs through to C# web forms and MVC applications.
